Anne's Sub 17 - Monroe

It really hurts to write this review, but this was a rather disappointing trip to my favorite sandwich shop. I moved from the area about thirty minutes away, and I took the trip today to treat myself to my favorite sandwich and I was hit with a very empty shop front. A cooler with just a few drinks in it. Maybe 8 bags of chips were turned on the shelf and chairs as if they were ready to close. There were not even cold salads in the cooler in the front. All this hit me as a little strange But fortunately I didn't come here for the atmosphere, I came for this monster sandwich. So if I have my order for an Amazin Blazin Sub, and I said they don't have buffalo chicken, so I say I'm going to take turkey instead. I'll tell them what I want, and then I said that they don't make the sauce for the sandwich anymore. The one thing I came here to get is not existent and there is not just a menu hanging for me to choose another option, let alone the cases were completely empty, so there was a lot to choose at all. So I left empty and disappointed. When I asked if they were shut down, they assured me that this was not the case, and I really hope it wasn't? This is a cornerstone in the Monroe community and it would be a shame that it would die.

Good sandwich, BUT they do not use Boars Head cold cuts, so the meat they use tastes more processed. The bread could also be a little softer. But overall large, good tasting sandwich with fresh vegetables and large size for a reasonable price.

I went here based on the amazing reviews and it being local. The prices are super reasonable and the subs are very large and filling. So if you are looking of of bang for your value it is a strong 4 star. Honestly though I wasn't impressed with the bread and sub themselves and that would be closer to a 3 star rating in my book. Uncertain honestly if I will be returning unless I'm in a bind.

Delicious, soft bread, and hugeeeeee stuffed sandwiches. There is no better place to get a sandwich from in town. Prices are great and customer service is top notch.
