This place is what barbecue is about! I'm staying at an Airbnb in the area for the night and was starving and needed to take my dogs on a walk as well and came across this place and had been craving barbecue. Walked down there ordered the pulled pork platter with french fries and everything is to die for. The ranch is the yummiest. Make sure you order some with the fries and the barbecue sauce is great. Also ask for an extra side of bbq sauce for takeout because they don't automatically give you too much. It's a great portion and was delicious. Sidenote, the phone number listed on yelp for some reason does not work. It says it's disconnected. I got the number from Google.
I can't even believe how delicious the food was. This is legit BBQ. The brisket melted in my mouth. The BBQ sauce was flavorful and while the brisket stands alone, the BBQ was perfect. We tried several sides and none disappointed. The potatoes au gratin...wow. I'm pretty picky with coke slaw and I'm certain this was the best I've had. On top of fantastic food, the service was equally great. Can't wait for the next visit.
After a week long river trip I was looking for some place in Monticello that could throw down a tasty, heart dinner. Doug's really delivered! The nachos were practically a meal in itself. The guacamole was top notch; the salsa was spot on. I added the Diablo Burger with a side of potatoes au gratin. (The waitress warned me that the nachos were a meal in itself. But I was really hungry. The bun is critical in a burger and it was a good bread. The burger was generous (1/2 pound , tasty, and a perfect medium. The potatoes au gratin were delicious with excellent consistency. The place itself had a nice family ambiance. And the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. I'm really glad I tried it.
This is a very authentic steak and BBQ joint! The best endorsement is that locals love it. It features a no frills environment so you focus on the important stuff: the food! We had the combo plate with brisket, St. Louis ribs, jalapeño cheese sausage, pulled pork, baked beans, Mac n cheese, and a corn muffin. Everything was juicy and delicious! Topped off with a friendly staff, I'll remember this restaurant the next time we pass through town.
