Contribuisci feedbackSo I was looking for eggs benedict and a local reviewed this place saying the eggs benedict was great. My Airbnb hostess told me it was only 10 blocks, but it wasn't, so it took me a long time to get there. NO eggs benedict for that very long walk. Also, no English menu, but that's not why I'm giving them a terrible review. No one there spoke English but what looked to be a manager spoke a bit. I asked several questions and ordered two entrees and a papaya juice. I was waiting and all of a sudden he asked if I wanted the food. I guess he thought someone else was coming. The juice came and it was barely drinkable. It was basically bits of crushed papaya with lots of water. If memory serves, I've had papaya juice before and this wasn't great nor was the papaya sweet which means it wasn't ripe. Then the scrambled eggs came. They were tasteless. I had to keep adding salt. The fried beans were tasty. The chicken crepes were also on the bland side and the green sauce was probably from a can because it had no real flavor to it. Just a bit. There wait staff constantly hovering by and picking up my plates within 10 seconds of me putting it down. I didn't like them always looking at me standing so close. They literally had NOTHING to do. I finished and asked for the bill. I got charged for 3 entrees instead of 2, AND the waiter (not the manager) tried to also charge me for the bread. They had put croissants on the table and I asked for butter and they brought strawberry jam and then some other bread I never touched. The butter didn't taste like butter and the jam had almost no strawberry taste to it. I was FURIOUS that he was trying to rip me off. Finally the manager came, took it and the bread off the bill and compted me the juice. I said to him, I ONLY ordered two meals and if you were going to charge me for the bread, you should have told me upfront. Oh, and the croissants were a 2.5 out of 5 The place was dead. Gorgeous plants all over and the décor and tables are nice, but the food was terrible and you better make sure they don't try to rip you off because they think you are a walking checkbook. I didn't tip the waiter on the credit card and only because I felt bad for my thief, I put 5 pesos on the table and left. Everyone else said goodbye except for him. SMH
We choose this restaurant to celebrate my brother in laws Bday, clearly a good choice, excellent service nice presentation, staff always service full in all a very good restaurant.
My daughters and I were going to the Orchid Museum and thanks to our off-line GPS system and extremely limited Spanish language skills, had made a 3 mile, 10-minute trip into a two-and-a-half-hour adventure. On arrival at the museum the girls were hungry and we looked for a place to eat. Across the street was a nice looking restaurant, Camila’s. In good local style we headed across the busy street and into the restaurant. As we walked up we realized we were not going into a chain “neighborhood bar and grill.” From the valet parking attendant on the place was up scale all of the way. The staff was gracious and courteous, if a little aloof. The menu pricing was 3 to 5 hundred pesos, which with the current exchange rate is between $15 and $25, but the size of the portions was about twice what we had seen described on other menus. They also had a buffet for N$185, which is about $10, and a bargain for what was offered. Beginning with soups, salad and seafood cocktails (I stayed with the shrimp – it was great in a sweet, orangie sauce. There were several meats (beef, pork, fish and poultry and huge avocados stuffed with tuna salad or a spicy chicken. There were beef and chicken quesadillas and between steaks and tuna we saw being grilled ordered off the menu they offered grilled cheeseburgers (I can get those at home, so did not waste the room . Fortunately there were three of us, so we could try things one had gotten that others did not want an full portion of, but we did not find anything that was not delicious. It was hard, but we were able to save room for desert. There were more than we could try including flan, cheese cake, a lemon cake (my daughters’ favorite and a rice and leche pudding. We were there around two in the afternoon and the food was fresh. There were several diners in the restaurant when we arrived, and as we were leaving there were lots of folk waiting. While we were in the restaurant there was a deluge and the street between us and the orchid museum was a river. While we were standing at the curb trying to figure out how to wade across one of the parking attendants came and offered to drive us across to our car in his SUV. I have seldom found that kind of gracious concern and customer service in a restaurant in the states. If you are in Morelia it is worth your time to go and see both the orchid museum and observatory. And while there be certain to eat at Camila’s.
Enjoyed a really nice breakfast here with excellent service. A real improvement on the food offered across the road in the Best Western Plus.
1.- Al momento de recibir los platillos, trajeron uno por otro y al aclarar que no era lo solicitado, el mesero dijo que podía traer una salsa y al insistir la cliente que quería lo seleccionado, el mesero contestó que se iba a tardar mucho, finalmente la clienta se quedó con lo que le llevaron. 2.- Pedí Omelette Relleno de Cochinita Pibil ,y aclaré que lo quería bien cocido: ERROR! Me lo trajeron seco, sobretostado y la cochinita estaba reseca y cuando lo probé: FATAL! se preparó con puras yemas, el sabor era muy fuerte, estaba amarillísimo.
