The food we have had has been tasty and the portions appropriately sized for our appetites. I recall a very pleasant creamy mushrooms and bacon. For my taste the coffee is good. Worth braking your journey here, especially given the lack of quality places on this route.
Having passed this many times we had occasion to drop in for a coffee today. Couldn't help it we stayed for lunch!! The staff were very welcoming, helpful and accommodating. Young Italian lady on the counter, young Argentinian (new Barista. The food was delicious, Coffee great, the decor fresh and thoughtful, and from the expression of (the obviously regulars it has a well deserved following. We wont pass without dropping in again! Thanks to Evelyn(? and Chris(? and all at Licorice you made our day even better!!
We have stopped here before, but recently we called in slightly after the lunch rush, there was not much selection in the cabinet and the person who served us only pushed a menu for meals at us, we were not looking for a full meal, so we left. We were just about to drive off when we were approached by the owner, a very pleasant woman asking if we would tell us why we left, we explained and she asked if we had been offered to make us anything else. She talked us into coming back inside, where we ended up with being made great vegetarian sandwiches, for my husband and I and a asparagus, feta and beetroot salad for my sister in law.The food was very good, the service great and we had our faith re instated and would not hesitate to go back again.Ask and ye shall receive, it seems, top marks to an owner that takes the initative to see if they can improve it worked and we would recommend this place to others.
We had the best coffee I 've had in a long time here and it was served so promptly. Our brunch was as good if not better than any cafe we have been to and they catered to kids so thoughtfully, it was no problem to make them a 'not on the menu ' bacon and toast dish which they did not charge much for. Coffee was so good we ordered another. The roaring fire was so welcome after a few days skiing. Thanks Licorice for a memorable brunch stop on our recent holiday.
Popped in yesterday for take out lunch food driving through. Have been to this cafe previously and it was good so trusted it see me right this time. And they didn't let me down. I got a chicken and vegetable filo with a beautiful chutney sauce. Delicious and filling. Also my flat white was excellent! The girl behind the counter who served me was new, but was super lovely and friendly, as was the young man who helped her at the till. Good staff, food and coffee. I recommend you stop in and partake
