Contribuisci feedbackThe restaurant is beautiful and the staff friendly but If you are a tourist , stay away. We made a reservation 2 weeks ago for a party of 2. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation time and were given what must be the worst table in the whole place. The restaurant was probably at 25% capacity at that point. The table was placed right in front of the waiter’s station. The manager apologized for not being able to find us a better table. He said that he could not give us the “locals’ “ table. I guess the moral of the story is unless you dine there regularly, you are not guaranteed a decent table. Perhaps this makes business sense. Save yourself the drive. By the way, there was no misunderstanding and nothing was lost in translation. French is my first language.
This restaurant was recommended to us by friends who had dined here several years ago. They raved about their experience, and said to us, save this place for a SPECIAL night out. We did, but it was a far cry from special. We went expecting a fine dining experience, we didn 't get anything close to that. We did learn that there had been a change in ownership maybe that explains the difference in our friends experience compared to ours! For us only our bill of 220 euros, was all that resembled a fine dining experience. Our waiter was polite, and professional, but so busy, that fine dining experience we did not get. He opened our 50 euro bottle of wine and poured each of us our first glass, every refill thereafter was done by me. After a 45 minute wait we were served our starter course. My partner enjoyed his lobster salad, and said that it was good, I chose the lentil salad with a poached egg cream and bacon. I 'd never order it again, and I 'd tell select anything else, don 't have it. Its cold, not warm, refrigerator cold, I didn 't expect a very cold poached egg with one slice of cold leather tuff bacon. In short a first course that was truly a disappointment. No one happened to even inquire as to if it enjoyed. After another 45 minute wait our second course arrived, My second course was a risotto with scallops and shrimp , I did enjoy that . My partners report on the sea bream was, it 's okay. Our waiter was nice, but we watched him run around all night long, with obviously far too much for one person to do. By this point in time we were a bit put off, we passed on dessert. As I said our check was of a total for which we expected a lot more that we received. Picking up our car was the icing on the cake, We handed the attendant 10 euros, that 's when we learned to park our car cost 15 euros.
We had perhaps too much expectation on this restaurant based on a friend recommendation - may be they had a great meal and service in another time - we just had an ok meal and ok service.We placed our order and after 20 mins we got served our main course and they never served our appetizers ! What else can I say?I gave a note of three simply because the meal was ok.This restaurant has a definite management problem.
Lovely setting but that is the only positive thing I can say about this meal. When we arrived with a reservation, our table was not set. Nobody came to our table for about 1/2 hour to offer water, drinks. The food was average and we were advised that they didn't have any vegetables. The service got off to a slow start and never recovered.
The staff had no record of our reservation even though I could provide an email on my phone screen to suggest otherwise. There was no apology or recompense offered whatsoever and we were treated appallingly by very arrogant and unhelpful staff, including the manageress on duty at the time, who quite simply did not care one bit.I suggest you give this establishment a huge swerve!!!
