You might find yourself slipping and falling, but the rich greens of the moss, lichen, and an array of beautiful plants make it all worthwhile. It's like a paradise crafted by the devil himself.
Incredible views from above! This spot offers a truly rewarding climb in the area. The ascent is quite steep and can be slippery when wet due to the flat rocks and muddy patches along the trail. If you park where indicated on the map, drive back 20 meters to the road and take a left onto Wansbrough Walk, then head up the hill. When you reach a fork in the path with three options, take the left path, which leads to the start of the Devil Slide.
Very hard ascent. Harder than Castle Rock, although a simpler slope.
One of my favorite trails in WA that ends with a stunning 360 degree view of the region and the other peaks of the Porongurup and Stirling Ranges. We started from Tree-in-a-Rock, which was easy to reach Bolganup Rd. The path started easy, but soon became steep. The return trip from Tree-in-a-Rock was about 5km with about 340m climbing.
It’s all uphill but worth the battle! Beautiful views and a lovely green, healthy trail. Will make your calves burn, in a good way. Fell on my way down but had extra padding (big butt) to break my fall. My advice is to go slow on the way down We went on a dry day but if it’s raining, I would not recommend as it’s already pretty slippery.
