The Grocery Store - Mount Barker

Yesterday, I stopped by for lunch on my way south and had a very enjoyable meal. I ordered a delicious berry smoothie and my wife's chai latte was also excellent. The service was top-notch and the staff was very friendly.

We went as a group of six on Sunday morning, it was very busy. they order and pay for eating and drinks at the counter and this is served at their table. american express and other credit cards are accepted.

I phoned this cafe up before calling in to check if they accepted American Express- as I was using my company credit card and most of the cafes in Albany and Denmark don’t accept them. The lady who answered was so so rude and questioned...why I wanted to know. When I told her it was because I needed to use that card and that I was a customer wanting to eat at the cafe! She continued with the very rude attitude muttering that they did accept but didn’t really like to...so I told her I’d give it a miss. She hung up on me! So....the cafe looked like the kind of place where you would get nice home cooked food....not sure about the welcoming service though.

Just dropped in on a chilly Monday morning on it easy home from Denmark. Had lovely toasted sandwiches and home made corn muffins. Coffee was perfect and all served with a smile.
