Mount Carmel Cafe

My family has been ordering from this restaurant at least once or twice a week. Unfortunately, today was the second time I was disappointed because not everything that I ordered was in my bag. In January, we ordered two New Yorker strip steaks from the special menu and when we got home, we realized they forgot to include the two salads. Today, I ordered a fried chicken liver plate and it did not come with the fried okra that was supposed to be included. Additionally, I was charged $13.99 instead of the $12.95 price that was listed on the special menu on Facebook. I am now hesitant to order from this restaurant again because it is frustrating to drive 20 miles round trip only to find mistakes in my order. I appreciate the offer of making things right, but it would be more efficient if they double-checked orders before they are handed to customers.

I ordered a Philly cheese sandwich and was disappointed to find that it had twice as much bread as meat. It was greasy and the American cheese slices on it didn't add to the flavor.

The catfish was delicious, but my NY strip steak lacked flavor. The chili seemed like it had been reheated in a microwave. The total bill was high, so I'm not sure if we will return to this restaurant in the future.

Had the delicious special, chicken piccata, today at lunch. Service was fast and the food was very reasonably priced. Will be back!
