The Spot - Mount Vernon

The service at this restaurant has significantly declined since it changed ownership. The staff is rude, with nasty attitudes. The food is terrible and expensive. I would recommend avoiding this place and saving your money.

On 2/22/21, I ordered takeout from this restaurant for my birthday dinner and it was fantastic. The service was great, the food arrived hot and fresh, and the quality was top-notch. I got the Basso with Mussels, Clams, Shrimp, and Calamari in a red sauce, which I've had before and loved each time. I also tried the Seafood Salad with Lettuce, Shrimp, Calamari, Scallops, Celery, Green Onions, and Fire Roasted Red Peppers in a Vinegar Sauce. It was a nice change from the usual mayo-based dressing and still delicious. All the seafood in both dishes was cooked perfectly. My husband and son also enjoyed their Shrimp Scampi and Seafood Stew. I highly recommend trying the restaurant dishes, not just the pizza - you won't be disappointed!

The pizza is decent if you really want it. I've always found it to be too greasy but tolerated it. Today, I am leaving a review because while eating one of the slices (my brother ordered a large pizza), I found a strange metal bolt in it. This makes me think that the restaurant is not being careful with their food preparation, so I will not be ordering from here again.
