Cafe an der Uni (CADU) - München

I've been coming here once a year for 15 years, ever since I was a student myself. Affordable, fun, convenient. Perfect place to grab a bite between lectures.

We were two families that chanced upon this restaurant, recently. It has a little door that leads into the restaurant and I so wish I hadn 't noticed it : The drinks (water, wine and fresh orange juice one can 't go wrong! were good... our food was rather average. My real problem was the service... the lady that served us was really surly and curt with us. Seven of us were served within an hour of the order. We were in no rush, so we didn 't mind that... But one and a half hours later, I still hadn 't been served my lunch! By now everyone in our group had finished their meal... but I was offered no explanation or apology. In fact, when I asked when I could expect my food, I was yelled at in German and told that it takes time! I 'd ordered a pre set breakfast of scrambled eggs, yoghurt and fresh fruits... Needless to say, by now I 'd lost my appetite. When we asked for our bill, as our guests had a train to catch, there was some more rudeness in store for us! Needless to say, I 'd never recommend this place to anyone! I 'm a resident of Munich and have had my share of indifferent service here but this place was just awful!

The cafe near the University of Munich is mainly crowded by students during the breaks of the lectures or by locals to have a beer or a coffee. There, you can find quite everything from coffee and tea to lunch and dessert, of course, beer is always there (you are in Germany). In summer there are tables outside, the atmosphere is fine and the food good. If you are nearby, it deserves a quick visit.

Beautiful cafe with beautiful ambience in the courtyard. On the way there are also places, but directly on the road and a little loud. On the menu you will find a plentiful selection of dishes and drinks.

Very pleasant place opposite the university. Especially for a good stopover: pleasant ambience, friendly service and reasonable food at a fair price. In the summer you can sit outside (provided you get a place), watch the weekend or evening football. So a good way to meet with friends on a beer.
