A colleague of mine who travels to Munich several times a year brought me and two other traveling coworkers here for dinner one cold November evening. The small intimate dining room was crowded with locals, and the warm atmosphere coupled with the excellent food made for a comfortable respite from the outside cold. We each had our own soup,shared several appetizers and entrees, and collectively announced each choice as incredibly tasty. One of the most enjoyable meals from a full week of dining out. Turkish red wine, very reasonably priced, was very suitable to the spiced food. Service was efficient and personable. I would definitely recommend and would eagerly dine again on return trips to Munich.
A fellow American expatriate introduced me to this place, and I have been back many times. It's a relatively small, friendly place run by a Kurdish family. The room is bright and cheerful, the service prompt and discreet. The clientele seems to be mainly people who live in the neighborhood. The food is authentic and excellent, light and healthy and tasty. They have a full bar for those who want strong drink, beer or wine with their dinner. It is reachable by the Number 19 tram.
We chose this place because it had veggie options for me and it was near our hotel. The waiter (who I think was the owner) immediately seated us and gave us the menu. He was one of the few people in Munich that struggled with English, he did offer us English menus though. It 's Kurdish/Turkish food, although I 'm not sure how authentic mine was given that it was veggie- I got the 'Patlıcan Böreği ' or 'Baked eggplant and zucchini with cheese, served with garlic yogurt sauce and Salad '. It was very nice- kind of like an lasagne made from layers of aubergine.
We were never disappointed here. Very nice service and really delicious food. In the middle of Haidhausen with beautiful opportunity to sit outside in summer.
Cosy Turkish restaurant with sufficient selection of vegetarian dishes. Recommended are the mixed starter plates and spinach with rice, paprikajoghurt (No. 42). Big portions. Service is friendly and attentive, but also a little chaotic. I definitely liked it very well!
