The Effenerplatz tram station is conveniently just outside, with lots of trams. Busy and lively, with obviously lots of locals dining, which is always a good recommendation. A little disappointed with my weedy antipasto starter, but the calves' liver was great and so too my wife's risotto. We shared an ice cream dessert as our appetites aren't what they used to be. Total bill Euros, which we thought very good value
We had some great pasta at this traditional feeling trattoria behind the Westin Grand. Friendly waiters, tasty no-nonsense Italian food and great value. Pizzas looked good too!
We had a nice dinner of lasagna, Magherita pizza and green salad. The food seemed freshly prepared. The dishes were basic but seemed freshly prepared. The wait staff were very pleasant and friendly. The entire meal was very reasonable costing only about euro, which...included a glass of chiati wine and bottle of water. Would recommend for a simple meal that is freshly prepared, with very friendly service.
The waiters here make a great effort to attend to every need and are very attentive and in their own queit way very friendly and very discrete. Service as it should really be. And the food is always excellent. Do no be put off by...the appearance of the restaurant building from outside, this has to be one the best italian Restaurants in Munich.
There are a lot of Italian restaurants where you can find Italian waiters and find food that is more or less as you would expect in a restaurant in Italy (expect maybe for few local variations). This is not the place. The waiters speak a...very simple Italian just to impress the guests and make they think this is truly an Italian restaurant. The way they say constantly grazie (thanks) out of context is simply annoying to a native speaker's ear. In the menu, a lot of Italian names are misspelled and the ingredients look weird (speck in the Carbonara? Peas in a third of the pasta dishes? That's a NO). I took the grilled squids, but they were actually fried and the side dish was boiled vegetables (I think I have never seen such a combination in Italy). The desserts were looking good, but the waiters were so slow we didn't have the time to try them.
