Zoe's - München

This is by far the worst restaurant I have reviewed in Munich. I ordered the duck and a glass of red wine, my wife a vegetable dish. My duck arrived a few minutes later, which surprised us both. It must have been reheated multiple times,...because I had the most violent stomach cramps for the next hours. On top of this, the house red (easily obtainable for cost EUR for a single glass, and my wife, who ordered a small bottle of mineral water, was served a bottle. Total rip-off, only interested in profit at risk to the health and welfare of the clientele.

They do one of the best Peking duck dishes I have had, and I eat this dish all over the world. Perhaps it is not completely traditional but really well cooked duck, plenty of it and good sauce and pancakes. Other dishes are equally well...made with rich and flavoursome sauces accompanied by well cooked chicken, duck, prawns etc. The staff are usually efficient and pleasant and the restaurant has a good atmosphere. Parking can be tricky as the car park is small and lots of people drive. Still you can usually find a place on the street if needed.

Put this on your must visit list! Excellent food and attention to detail that is admirable. Try the sushi, sashimi and grilled tuna steak.

Friends who live in Munich took us here and pre-ordered Peking Duck for us to share. It was wonderfully prepared and the multi-course meal stretched the evening tastily. We would never have found the place without our friends and it seems well off the tourist...path. But as my friend said, when you've had enough Schnitzel and Schweineshaxe and the like, this makes for a superb diversion. This isn't your run of the mill sweet and sour pork place but authentic Asian cuisine.

My mum lives in Munich and on my visits here, we have always tended to go to more traditional Bavarian restaurants. This is one of her favourite haunts, and I can see why. Lovely surroundings, great service but importantly delicious, fresh and tasty food. Coming...from Australia I am used to eating lots of Vietnamese and Thai food, and wasn't sure that the food here would be authentic however this was a great meal. We had red curry duck with rice and vegetables which was delicious. Vietnamese rice paper rolls will be the next thing I try. Definitely recommend a visit.
