I asked my team to report during a Client Holiday to work on a planning session. I wanted to reward them by having dinner outside the office and one of my Team Managers recommended this restaurant. This well lit, artsy black and white interior restaurant is located at the ground floor of Azumi Boutique Hotel. Known for the breakfast buffet station if Azumi, this place also serves lunch and dinner. Pomelo Salad - salad greens, salted egg and pomelo tidbits in strawberry and apple cider vinaigrette Sinigang na Sugpo - Big Bowl serves 5-6 with reasonable size prawns. Soup in nice but there is lingering aftertaste of Patis on the soup. Bangus Sisig - this one is better than the greasy version from Gerry's Grill. Inihaw na Pusit - Typical squid relleno. This one has cheese and serve sliced open face. The black ink rice that comes with it is nicely seasoned. - Just the rice General's Chicken - a failed attempt to establish an original "house" version of the fowl staple Boneless Crispy Pata Binagoongan- an innovative version. It looked different on this picture because I asked the sauce to be separated (not sure at that time if everyone in my team will appreciate the pata dredged in the bagoong sauce). I enjoyed the cozy atmosphere added to the homey feel of the boutique hotel. Food spread of the buffet was good native dishes. I look forward to a staycation and a breakfast meal to match. Staff are very attentive too. This will not be the last time we come here.
During our 3 days 2 nights stay at Azumi Boutique Hotel, we had our breakfast buffet here at Romulo Cafe. The choices during my stay were Filipino dishes like Fish Sarciado, Chicken Sarciado, Champorado, Pancit Guisado. As I am quite very particular with breakfast and don't want breakfast with a lot of sauce. I requested for them to serve me instead ham and sausages. However, for our second breakfast buffet, they already served sausages and ham. The design of this Cafe is very nice! and somehow looks greenery. For more, visit my blog olympusgirlinsg.blogspot.com
