The tangy salmon salad could have been more green because the breaded salmon was overwhelmingly heavy. And to make matters worse, I also had the Spicy Salmon Sandwich, it's like bread on bread. Good thing they had free tea, I had 3 servings which kind of reduced the guilt of having too much carbs. And I read on the wall that they use rapeseed oil. I wish they hadn't.
Actually tried this twice, first time was in sm south mall, probably last year and just tried last night in their new branch in festival mall. ordered the one with prawn tempura with cold noodle. Maybe it could have been better if the head of the prawn was fried more to make it crispier and after eating 3 prawn tempura, shrimps in tempura batter as well and two string beans, then there was this vegetable tempura and by that time it was getting too oily already so didn't finish it. It tasted ok not that much different from other tempura I have tired in other resto, not much better nor worse. Just gets oily after some.
Tenya opened last week and continues the celebration by offering a Buy One Get One promo for their tendons through May 12, 2017 (mechanics are on their social media accounts). This offer applies exclusively to your Festival Mall branch. We went for this promo and it is definitely a promo worth seeing! This branch is remote and difficult to find if you are unfamiliar with the mall. With the recent expansion, even the locals are struggling to find this branch. Once you are comfortable with the Shopwise wing, you can exit the X-Site entrance (along Civic Drive) and look for the new group of restaurants on the right. There should be a huge tenya tarpaulin. We were greeted warmly and when we inquired about the promo they were quick to confirm. We ordered the All Star Tendon and the Three Pieces Ebi Tempura Tendon. It came with a small bowl of miso soup. Cold service tea was also served, it was refreshing and perfect for the hot weather outside. We all enjoyed our bowls. The Ebi, however, was quite damp. But everything else was cooked perfectly. The squid was so soft to the bite. The green beans were crispy and the salmon went well with the dizzying Tentsuyu. The 200g rice is maybe not enough for me. Must have the heavy price on my next visit. Four tendon shells for the price of two! Sulite. Overall, the service was quick, friendly and very accommodating. The interiors had clean, simple lines that reflected the good food they serve. Recommended.
