BEST WESTERN Dorchester Hotel Restaurant

The restaurant was in the hotel we stayed at, we only ate breakfast there but it was good, good portions but I did find it a little pricey. The waitress was charming and very entertaining.

Visited with friends for a night out. Found the restaurant to be really nice. Food was good but the prices are quite high - has to be a really great occasion for us to visit again.

Buffet was selection of salads,2 hot meals chicken stir fry,beef/mushroom pasta dish and selection of pastries. excellent meal along with great service.

Too bad for some of the food as the service was very good and the hamburger was not bad. The seafood chowder was pasty and glue like (sever noticed it also made it easy to return) and the pasta shrimp and pesto was .... Ok, nothing special.We had a few problems that were dealt with very well and keeps this review from a 0.

I do not know why this is not the highest rated location in Nanaimo to stay. You are right on the waterfront, great rooms, fine dining. The view from the room is wonderful. Simply cross the road to get to the waterfront or trendy places to eat or shop. We ate in the restaurant and had a wonderful meal with smoked salmon too. They had a K-cup coffee maker in room, and a microwave is on the 3rd floor. We did not need a microwave during the 2 night stay. I would have no problem staying here again, and again.
