Fairway Market - Nanaimo

(Hot food counter) most of the food was very good. Fried rice was absolutely polluted with egg shells, like more then one can pass off as bad luck called to complain (not to ask for anything free, not hoping its offered, just to inform management of the blatant quality control problem) and the managers response was yea? and? what you want me to do about it . I will not be returning simply because of this fellows blatant disregard for how peoples food is handled. (wish I would have thought to take a picture, it was a ridiculous amount of egg shells

I will never be back at this store and will actively discourage others from supporting them after my dehumanizing experience today. I went to the deli to get some sushi for lunch. I am not able to wear a mask for medical reasons and have a doctors note with me. When I went to pay the cashier asked me to put on a mask. I told her I was not able to and had a medical exemption. She flat out refused me service and her body language was very hostile and rude. I asked to speak to the manager and he was no better. When he saw I was not wearing a mask he got pretty excited and was telling me I must leave it's like he thought my very presence would kill someone. I told him i was not able to wear one, and had a medical exemption and a doctors not but that did not matter. I am not anti-mask or anti-vax and am aware not wearing a mask can make people feel uncomfortable. I always try and keep proper distances and follow all te guidline. HOW ABOUT TREATING SOMEONE WITH SOME DIGNITY AND RESPECT! I plan to file a human rights complaint and hope they get a hefty fine!

I bought refrigerated daifuku mochi, but there was no expiry date put on the packages I noticed when I got home. I phone them and the very kind cashier puts me through to John, or someone, who is responsible for sticking that isle. He goes and finds out, and tells me that they were taken out of the freezer yesterday and stocked, so they should be good for 3 or 4 days. But the negligence of not labeling an expiry date on a perishable item, like milk, worries me. When cooked rice goes off, it can make you sick. I told him that he needs to label things like this, and he yelled at me that he's going to do it. But seriously....this is pretty bad...who knows how old it really is.
