Fifty Six Union - NANTUCKET

The mussels are fantastic. Great food and great service.

So sorry to see 56 Union close this year. Our meal this week was fine however not up to their usual standards . We wish them the best!

We were seated in the bar area, apparently when you use Open Table that’s where they put you vs their dinning room or out door seating. I had the crusted Halibut. It had the consistency of and tasted like fluke. My wife had the Egg plant that was two slices of egg plant drenched in cheese and tomato sauce and baked.

We are sad to lose this solid restaurant on the island. Unfortunately, our final dinner with 56 Union was not the best. I loved the prosciutto and melon and the yellow curry mussels. My husband's fish was served cold and had to be sent back. I had finished my mussels (main course) by the time his entree was returned. The most disappointing was the service. No smiles and she seemed rushed and uninterested in us. Maybe she was having a bad night?

The infused watermelon and prosciutto salad was excellent and a great combination with the pork chop! We look out three teenage grandchildren and they raved about the food and experience. Thank you Wendy and Peter for another memorable dinner with our family!
