El Refugi De Montgarri - Naut Aran

Visited the site of the Refugio to buy a cold drink, however found the drinks very expensive. 3€ for a 25cl tónic water, same price for a beer too. After stopping for drinks, we then visited the church.

Staff unwelcoming from momement we arrived. Food alright but over priced: vegetarian meal was a plate of cheese.

We walked today from Plan de Beret to Montgarri for lunch. We have visited many times before and it had always been a favourite spot with my family until today. The service was none existent. We waited half an hour to place an order. One order was for the the 4 course Menu of the day. The first three courses were basically threw onto the table. It came with ‘pan con tomate’ but we were only given bread when I asked for the tomato and garlic it was slammed into the table. We were made very unwelcome by all the staff. I was there my parents who are in the seventies and my two daughters. When I took my youngest daughter to the toilets she was washing her hands and the waitress came in shouting that we had to save water and leant over me to turn the tap of which I turned back on so my child could finish washing her hands! She starting shouting that you have to save water and stormed out. I then tried to speak to a male who seemed to be in charge but he told me he didn’t speak English yet he then followed me outside yelling that I had to wear a mask inside the restaurant in English! No one else in the restaurant was wearing a mask and we were sitting aside. He wasn’t wearing a mask. No other customers in the restaurant we’re wearing masks whilst there or when going into the The toilets etc but they were treated much better than us. In previous years we have been given a Casis after our meal. All the other customers got this but all we got was rudeness! So terribly disappointed mostly in the service but also on the poor quality food which was all served together. When the man was out yelling in English which he said he did not speak I was totally embarrassed! We hadn’t even complained about the food or service. My seven year old is totally traumatised from the experience in the bathroom with the waitress yelling and turning the tap off in the bathroom! I can only assume that they did not want us there! I would not recommend this place to anyone! I recommend you take a picnic if you do this walk and do not waste your money in this very overpriced restaurant. There are much nicer places to spend your money at in the surrounding towns and villages!

El refugio se encuentra rodeado de pura naturaleza, el acceso a pie con nieve baja puede llevar en torno a 1.30h. Hay rutas con raquetas y trineos cuando hay más nieve, pero no las hemos probado. Comimos en la zona interior del refugio y todo genial, la comida bastante bien, buena relación calidad/precio y la atención muy agradable.

Para empezar ,después de leer los comentarios íbamos con miedo a encontrarnos con el propietario, pero está claro que ese día no estaba o no apareció por ahí. El trato de los camareros fue correcto y pudimos hacer uso del wc!!!!! Comida normalita: embutido de poca calidad ,el paté estaba bueno. La parrillada más de lo mismo: chorizo muy graso y carne de cordero cortada demasiado delgada. Mucha gente y eso que era entre semana y en septiembre. Bello entorno pero demasiado turístico.
