They are full of filling and worth the money. They also sell bbq plates and by the pound. It is delicious. I had Lad's make the dressing and gravy for my turkey dinner and i have to say the dressing was as very moist and tasteful. I will order again from Lads. They make chicken spaghetti and other items for family gatherings or school faculty luncheons.
Well, this was definitely the worst service I have ever seen at a local small-town restaurant! It all started when we walked in and asked for a table for three-the lady just stared at us Blankley and asked if we were going to get three specials. We said no, three to dine in-and she informed us that you just order at the counter. But the only thing that she wanted to offer us was the special-beef tips over rice, which came out of a crockpot.I am no food connoisseur, but when someone calls their establishment a Smokehouse, most people would expect barbecue of some sort. They said that bbq was only offered on Fridays and Saturdays. So we ordered the lunch special, the only thing they offered for us.Incidentally, as they were scooping the slop into a Styrofoam container, he said all they have is barbecue on Fridays and Saturdays, since today was a Wednesday, all that was available were sliced beef, brisket, and sausage! How the hell is that NOT considered barbecue? So they put everything on the table in to go containers were clearly sitting there to eat, and he said I'll did you not want this to go?Obviously he thought we were city folks coming out to the country to get something to go LOL.The dessert that came with the lunch special looks like it was a pre-fabricated birthday cake from last month's Kroger going-out-of-business sale. I asked to upgrade to a slice of pecan pie, I could just buy it since it was advertised as a $1.50. Unfortunately, they said no slices were available to sell because they were not yet cut. I would need to buy the entire pie.I really did not want to, but the pie looked pretty good, she said it was made today. So, I relented and bought the entire pie. The sign said pies were $10 each-but then at the register it was 15! I asked her why does the sign say $10? She said I'm sorry I cannot make the prices, but the pecan pies are more expensive they're $15. I asked her how come there are eight slices , and at $1.50 x 8; does not equal $15?She said I'm not sure actually that's a great question! But, sadly we do not make the prices. Anyhow we were informed that they did not take WIC or American Express, to which I had an equally blank stare. I just used our Visa card and got the hell out of there as soon as possible! In lieu of anything else, we had a wonderful meal at McDonald's afterwards to satiate our craving for lunch
Ladds was recommended by some friends and I truly hope those friends finds a place that makes GOOD sausage. I dropped of some deer, black buck doe, and a wild pig to have processed into Jalapeno Cheese Summer Sausage, Smoked Link Sausage, and pan breakfast sausage. I got peppercorn cheese summer sausage- mediocre at best, terrible link sausage that I threw away instead of going back and arguing with the personnel, and pan sausage that was barely edible- I ended up throwing it away also. It tasted like it was made with bad meat that wasn't properly taken care of, makes me wonder if it was the animals I dropped off or a mixture of other peoples meat also and then just distributed as Ladds saw fit. I strongly recommend- DO NOT TAKE ANY MEAT TO LADDS TO BE PROCESSED. I will be going back to the people I originally used and the only reason I went to Ladds was my wife wanted to try somewhere different- the worst sausage I ever tasted and $245 dollars wasted but i'm sure Ladds didn't mind getting paid for NOTHING.
MANAGEMENT JUST DOESN 'T GET IT Still can not believe your company did not honor the customer first. You told me that you tried my Sausage and the office staff tried it and felt it was good.My dogs are still eating it and they have a hard time getting themselves to do that. Still has that same old rotten smell! In the age of Social Media and being able to review companies,I feel like you made a foolish business decision. CUSTOMER COMES FIRST not greed. I am only doing my part as a CONSUMER to give an honest opinion of my dealings with your company. It cost me a lot of money to process meat at your facility for years and I was disappointed in the way your young new manager handled my situation. I am getting plenty of meat this season and after the way I was treated I can not see why ME or ANYONE I KNOW should allow your facility to do the job! Sincerely Tedd Nichols
