Jessop's Tavern - New Castle

Large historical tavern, large selection of Bavarian beer, colonial price!

We loved this place! The food and service were both excellent. Plus, the historic atmosphere is fantastic! Lastly, the beer list is like no other. We wish that we did not live an hour away, but we plan on coming back as much as we can!

Nice comfort food, good value for the money. Usually the service here can use improvement but this time our service was perfect. We were served by one of the gentlemen who usually works the bar and our service was perfect. Awesome selection of Belgian beers, worth it to try something new.

Jessops was recommended as a good place for delicious food and a great atmosphere. We agree. The food was excellent and we loved the historic building. Waitresses were friendly and dressed in period garb. I have already recommended it to other people.

It is recommended for a Thursday, but there are not many local restaurants. Cuisine/Witstaff seemed overwhelmed, but eating was good/very good when it arrived. if they are not a known place, they have confirmed the reservations again, will come back in a quiet night.
