However, with its selection of delicious products and friendly staff, it actually proves to be a great choice. The café is equipped with a glass partition and window separating it from the bustling activity outside. Customers can easily place an order, pay for it, and have it quickly bagged up. For a little over $5, customers can enjoy five different choices, including the strongly powdered custard-filled pastries known as "kissen." While these treats are quite satisfying, the cafe's claim to being "World Famous" may fall slightly short in comparison to others.
I ordered the small geese dish, which came with eggs and speck. The atmosphere was a bit more relaxed than I prefer, but the speck and eggs were cooked perfectly, although I wish there had been more eggs. Of course, I also tried the buttermilk drop, which was delicious! The trip was definitely worth it. The buttermilk drop was more doughy than a typical donut hole, more like a pie donut.
