Carrollton Station - New Orleans

I absolutely love this place! However, I think the seating arrangement could be improved for comedy nights.

They prepared the table for me; I couldn’t have asked for anything better.

I wouldn't recommend coming here for comedy. The person in charge seems to struggle when a joke falls flat. It's a tough job, but it's important to maintain a good attitude and not make the audience feel uncomfortable.

Been going to the “Think You’re Funny” open mic at Carrollton Station since 2010 as an audience member, and since 2017 as a performer. I’ve watched or performed in thousands of open mics between dozens of places across over a dozen states, and the open mic at Carrollton Station is by far the best run and most enjoyable from both an audience and a performer perspective. I’ve seen Hannibal Burress, Bill Burr, Sean Patton, Punkie Johnson, Shane Torres, Marcus Bond, and many other incredible standup comedians at this mic. The bartenders, door guy, and kitchen program are also top-tier. Don’t even get me started on the bar cat Powder and the next door neighbor dog Holey (don’t know his real name, but that’s what I call him since there’s a hole in the courtyard fence he sticks his head through to hang out with us). Great times. They run a top tier show with an athmosphere conducive for everyone’s enjoyment. Don’t be a jack___ here and you will have a ball.
