Desire Oyster - New Orleans

Eating is always fabulous. the grilled oysters are the best in new orleans. gretchen, our server was perfect and the grill chefs were entertaining. a must in nola.

Service was great! No waiting to get a table at lunch. Ordered fried oysters which were a big disappointment small and seemed dried out. My companion had fried shrimp which were also a disappointment small and dried out. They allowed us to substitute a vegetable for the fries on the platter and the vegetables were good

Consistently on point with all of their food. Wife had the Blackened Catfish with Grits and their Greens. All of that was fantastic. I had a dozen oysters on the half shell and they were great as always. Had the Pecan Pie as well and it was perfect as always.

Shrimp RealAudio was disappointing; it was primarily shrimp and mayonnaise. The gumbo was good, while the jambalaya was a bit dry but still fairly decent. The service, however, was prompt and pleasant.

We had a high top reservations for an early dinner at 5. When we arrived on time it did not seem very busy. We received a “lukewarm” greeting and seated right away. When we ordered drinks, it seemed to take awhile. When the drinks arrived, the martini was half full. We questioned the server, his attitude changed, as if he could not be bothered. The server took the drink and said the martini was “3” ounces and left asking if we wanted another drink. We spoke to the manager on duty and was met by an unenthusiastic apology. We told the manager we were cancelling our Open Table reservations and left.
