Great place for lunch, the salsa is a must have. Salsa has amazing flavor and goes perfect with the chicken burrito. Clean restaurant and a friendly staff made our lunch a good time. We walked in at opening time for lunch and were right away, I would guess 15 minutes later there was a wait.
While in New Orleans, it is a mandatory stop for us to get Johnny Sanchez happy hour menu. This review cannot speak for the regular menu, simply because we have never passed the HH one. Now, don’t get me wrong, all food looks amazing here, but the HH tacos are affordable, delicious, and diverse enough for us to just keep it simple. The “albondiga” taco is my absolute favorite! I can eat 10 of them and never get sick! We highly recommend this place for a casual happy hour, nice drinks, and great atmosphere just a few blocks from the Superdome.
All of the food was incredible! Especially the banana pudding tres leches. To die for! The waitress was pretty terrible though. I think she only checked on us once after we finished all our food and didn't even ask to take any plates. The guy who brought our dessert had to grab them.
We went to Johnny Sánchez for dinner. I had a burrito with a **** Maria. The burrito required a knife and for in order to eat it. The flavor of the burrito was quite nice. I can't say the same about the **** Maria. The **** Maria was mostly Vodka, and I couldn't taste the tomato juice. Our waitress was nice, cheery, and helpful. Overall, we enjoyed our meals and found the atmosphere to be pleasant.
