Nonna Mia Cafe & Pizzeria - New Orleans

My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant for our anniversary dinner and it was a pleasant surprise! The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We began with the cheese board, which was fantastic. For our main courses, I ordered the sheepshead and my husband had the lamb. I would definitely recommend both dishes.

I don't know what kind of magic the oven uses, but everything that required toasting was done perfectly. The bread served before the meal was like being transported to France, with fresh, crispy yet soft and warm bread. It was divine. We ordered escargot, mussels, and hangar steak, and while the food was delicious, the lack of utensils provided and the presentation of the steak (covered in fries) prevented me from giving it a 5-star rating. Despite this, I still highly recommend Cafe Degas as the meal was good and the atmosphere was intimate and pleasant. I would definitely return. If you're in the area, don't hesitate to stop by.

This charming French bistro has a cozy, rustic feel with delicious food, excellent service, and a pleasant atmosphere. Despite its long-standing history of 35 years in a residential neighborhood, the restaurant does not come off as pretentious. It was a wonderful discovery! All dishes were superb, although the French onion soup could have been improved by caramelizing the onions for a richer flavor. Our server struck the perfect balance of attentiveness and knowledge without being too intrusive.

Had a great dinner here tonight with my wife and daughter. The muscles and especially the fennel broth were amazing. The frites were soso.. the salads and cheese plate was good. Great location with lots of outdoor seating.

The service was fantastic. I love that they are one of few places that remains open later. Our server was welcoming and made a wonderful wine recommendation. The food was delicious, from the shrimp appetizer to the merengue dessert. My only critique is that my filet was slightly over cooked. I asked for medium and received almost well done. Other than that, I would return again.
