The atmosphere was unwelcoming, with dirty and uncleared tables scattered around. The overall cleanliness of the restaurant was lacking and quite off-putting. The menu mainly caters to those who enjoy fish and seafood, with limited options for others that were not very appetizing. The service was also subpar.
Our hostess was enthused when we arrived however offered to seat us on the balcony, which we were excited for to people watch and take in more of the city during dinner. However, when we got upstairs we were told the server would not serve us out there because it was too hot ; seeing as I (from the north) had walked miles in 95 degree heat all day, I found it odd that if I was choosing outdoor seating that I would be told no by someone local. Already a strike. The waitress was not very friendly, she was barely enthused or helpful with the menu, she did not offer us specials, or a drink or even welcome us or ask if we were visiting town or locals (we clearly we not locals) so she didn 't suggest food or anything. My jambalaya was dry and lacked flavor and my friend 's meal, was tasty but not exactly what she wanted or expected. We were not checked on and not offered boxes to take our food. Overall it made a very long day of heat and sight-seeing even longer and really just became a meal of sustenance not experience, unfortunately.
This was a great find and some of the best food I had in NOLA. I'm not an oyster eater, but our server recommended the chargrilled oysters. They were delicious!!!! They weren't chewy or fishy and had great flavor. Our server also recommended the shrimp etouffe so I ordered that. It was fabulous!!! It was spicy but not too spicy and was so flavorful. My friend had the catfish po boy and she loved it. But the best part of our meal was the bread pudding we had for dessert. I order bread pudding any time it's on the menu, and this was the best I've ever had. The white chocolate praline sauce was absolutely divine. I'll definitely eat here anytime I visit NOLA.
Absolutely wonderful. Food, service, everything was top notch. A little pricey but worth every dime.
Our waitress was fantastic. She was friendly and engaging, while also being quick and attentive. However, there was a concerning incident between the general manager and a bar employee that made us feel uncomfortable because it escalated quickly. Despite this, the food was delicious and the overall service was excellent.
