You will see a line, but if you need to wait, this is definitely the place. Scan the QR; grab a place and chat the other guest.
We thought of Willie Mays for a late lunch today we waited about 40 minutes to sit, it was good to wait.. We ordered the three-piece fried chicken with Mac cheese and peas and a salad with grilled chicken one side of red beans and rice. The chicken is absolutely amazing!. Red beans and rice were also great! It's a must to stop when you're in New Orleans.
Absolutely good food. The best roasted chicken I've ever had down my hands. The fried chicken (dark meat) tasted absolutely fresh; even the skin of the meat tasted great, which I usually avoid. We also had the Willie Mae Chicken Sandwich, which was also the best. The oozing sauces have just increased the flavors to the next level. So were the red (Kidney) beans with rice and bread pudding. The Hornbrot also tasted great. The only problem is the waiting time, which can be well up from an hour, so be prepared for it. You can park your vehicle somewhere on the streets. But waiting will be worth it. Very recommended!!!
This place is a beautiful part of the story that serves some delicious chicken. The dough is light and crispy and the chicken has just enough spices to warm your lips. The butter beans are creamy and buttery and the red beans are just a little smokey. The bread pudding with rum sauce was also perfect as the taste immediately transported me back to Christmas of childhood. It was very emotional to eat here, to get to know the story and the incredible people who showed up here before me. It was like a big dinner.
The fried chicken is one of the best I?ve ever had. The batter is excellent it has a lot of uneven surfaces from bubbles, creating these satisfying crevices that yield an instant oily satisfaction. The skin is crispy and magically airy at the same time. The meat is tender, and actually a little flavored inside. The sweet potato fries are also very well done super oily and extra crispy, with a soft inside.
