The Mayfair - New Plymouth

We had an amazing first restaurant experience for our four-year-old son. The food was fantastic—especially the popcorn chicken, which was the best we've had! The pricing was very reasonable for both food and drinks. The staff truly deserve recognition; they were friendly, welcoming, and seemed to know exactly what we needed. They made our little boy feel like a king. A huge thank you to everyone!

The restaurant has friendly staff and a welcoming bar team. They offer a great selection of beers, along with a small but satisfying dining menu. However, the organization of events, such as the August comedy club, could use some improvement, as it felt a bit last-minute and disorganized. There was also some confusion among the bar and floor staff regarding the opening time, and the bouncers and staff only arrived five minutes prior to the doors opening. Despite these issues, I would definitely return.

I visited this restaurant with some friends for a show, and I was really impressed by the beautiful decor and artwork, as well as the stunning large mirrors. The atmosphere was pleasant, though a bit cramped. The service was excellent; everyone was incredibly friendly. The drink prices were reasonable, making it a great spot to enjoy the show!

Tonight the team at The Mayfair hosted our nephew Mata Bidois 21st. We want to take our hats off to Kopa, K, and all the bar staff, special mention to the Chef and kitchen crew, the food was excellent I was worried that I might not have enough but you guys had it sorted and everyone enjoyed it coming out in intervals, thank you for making sure all Matas guest were well-fed. We came away extremely happy with tonight it all came down to you all making it a night to remember. We will definitely be back in the future and highly recommend The Mayfair to anyone looking for a venue. Regards Aroha and Joe Thompson

Huge place. Was a fantastic venue. Staff are friendly. Drink prices are high, as expected for a bar. Bar snack prices are too high. Nice city center location.
