The server was dismissive bordering on rude. The lobster cocktail was overdone but the oysters and mignonette were delicious. Paper cups for a mignonette seems cheap given the price of the oysters were all between $4-5 a piece. Wine list is excellent.
A NY institution that doesn't deserve to be. The maitre d was rude and needlessly condescending, the waiter cwas somewhat rude and ouldn't have paid us less attention, walking by and never asking if everything was ok or filling our water. The food was essentially thrown down at our table and that was that. Prices are very high and the service is below that of a diner. As in so many places, the only people who seem to care and to do their jobs well are the busboys. A real disappointment and one I won't be revisiting.
It was always great to return to this place and enjoy good food and a different ambiance.
Delicious choice of various origines of East Coast oysters. Fish was good. We’re no favourites of battered fish. We like the plain options to let the pure texture and taste come out.
All good except they ran out of bread when we were about to have our entrees
