If you're not a fan, it might be a good idea to ask if they can use a different type of bread, though I'm not sure if that's possible. The garlic fries are fantastic as well, and the onion rings are good too, although I found them a bit too greasy for my taste. The staff was really friendly as well. We've been to Katz's and this place is just as incredible, if not more so. So if you want to skip the long wait, definitely consider coming here instead.
After walking by the restaurant several times, I finally decided to step inside. I have to admit, its exterior isn’t very inviting, but once you’re inside, it’s a delightful trip down memory lane for your taste buds. That’s what I appreciate about food—it doesn’t have to be fussy to be enjoyable. This place has been around since 1956, so you can expect a classic experience. If you’re craving a sandwich, it’s reminiscent of the legendary Katz’s in New York.
The pastrami here is amazing, and the side portions are huge. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, providing super fast service.
Let you decide if this is worth your money $31.30) for a turkey sandwich. Waited 25 minutes for this too. As an older guy who was waiting inside said ?they have two speeds, slow and slower?
Delicious and full of nostalgia. The soups, knishes, and salami are incredible (make sure to try the tongue sausage!). It was a bit on the pricey side, but that may be expected for this area of NYC.
