Sabi Sushi - New York

I really enjoyed the Rock n Roll sushi and thought it would be great for take-out. Maybe her sushi is even better. The service was really fast and the atmosphere was super casual. I’ll definitely be adding this place to my list for future sushi outings.

The food is good, but I find their payment practices a bit tricky. In my last two visits, the cashier mistakenly handed me a $1 bill instead of a $5 bill. I guessed it could have been a mistake, but since it happened twice, I'm starting to think otherwise. Additionally, when you pay by credit card, they display a screen with high tip percentages while watching you, creating a rather uncomfortable atmosphere. I prefer a more relaxed environment, so I’ve decided to stop going there. There are plenty of other options in the area.

When I first dined at this restaurant, I ordered the Bento box, which included just six pieces of sushi. The tempura shrimp were overcooked and chewy, and the yellowtail had overly large chunks of fish that were difficult to enjoy. There were very few pieces of eel on the side as well. The seaweed salad felt more like an afterthought than a true side dish. Unfortunately, I ended up getting food poisoning from this meal and am still feeling sick after 1:30. Overall, a disappointing experience.

Sabi Sushi in the Plaza Food Hall today I ordered the Caesar salad with grilled tuna for $14,50. The salad was presented very simply with salad, 3 cherry tomatoes and cut sea red tuna. The dressage is on the side. The dressing is strongly flavored with Wasabi. It will clear your airways! Overall a fine salad, but as always with The Plaza, strong? overpriced.

This review is for the Pennsy food hall location. Ordered the teriyaki chicken bowl and am disappointed for a few reasons.: the portion of unseasoned chicken was child sized, the broccoli was cold, and the price was outrageous. The rice was good.
