This is definitely the worst location of Sophie's I've visited in the city. The food here isn't fresh at all; you can really taste the difference. The empanadas were the worst I've ever had. Midtown East needs to raise its standards!
I still enjoy the food, but the portions have noticeably decreased. The salmon no longer feels worth it. I understand that prices are rising, but it feels unfair to reduce the portions at the same time.
Delicious Cuban Food in Midtown! I expected to pay way too much for some mediocre whitewashed midtown meal but boy was I surprised. Price is about 15-20ish for a meal that can feed two. Small was 2 sides and a main. Good counter selection, highly recommended!
I had a beef and chicken empanada. Both were beautifully flakey, fresh, hot, and delicious. Loved the flavors in the stew, and the salsa verde was 10/10. The homemade passion fruit juice brought me away from my desk to a tropical island. Prices were reasonable too!! I'll definitely be coming back regularly :
