How is it possible that one of the best croissants I've ever had in NYC is located in the basement of a Starbucks at the Empire State Building? It defies logic, but here we are. Sure, they're technically cornetti, but let's be honest—it's still a croissant. (Make sure to try the raspberry one!) Instead of waiting in the long line at the lobby, head down to the lower levels, grab a seat, and order a pastry. I also sampled the Oleato cortado, which my wife didn’t care for, so it's definitely a "love it or hate it" scenario. The staff is incredibly friendly, and I plan to return to explore their other savory options. Pizza, perhaps? I’m not sure if I’m ready to spend $8 on a slice, but maybe... just maybe... for the sake of curiosity.
This Starbucks has been running incredibly well lately. They've made some positive updates to the menu which enhance the overall experience. It’s also wonderful to have the opportunity to sample their featured coffees. As with all Starbucks Reserve locations, the service is excellent, and the selection of food and beverages is top-notch. The staff at this location are always a delight to interact with. The manager, Nicole, is very professional and does a fantastic job of ensuring both customers and her team are happy. I just wish I had time to visit more than once a week. If you're unfamiliar with the Starbucks Reserve concept, take a look at the menu board and try something from the Reserve selection—you won’t be disappointed!
