Mad River Bar & Grille - New York City

The bartender is incredibly nice. I came with a friend after I had spent the afternoon in the Met. He gave us free sodas on the house and led us through the whole menu while we chose food. The surroundings are incredibly friendly and cozy, and the music is very good. Most importantly, the food is delicious.

This is a great neighborhood bar. They have moderately good selection of beers and keep a variety of events, including trivia nights. You also have interesting happy hour offers, but it is best to avoid the cure and spend your money on actual orders. Your food is really amazing. Excellent Brussels sprouts, wings, oh what you have. Very recommended.

Yes, my husband and I came to a late lunch today and had a great experience. John was so attentive and nice. The drinks were strong and the food was good. It is a very typical New York bar and barbecue. It is a little picturesque, but that adds to the character. It was great. Next time we're here from Texas, I'm definitely over.

The most professional and competent and friendly waiting staff of every Upper East Side Restaurant! Everyone treated me like I was king. Unlimited mimoses and screwdrivers. My waiter was dead and as sweet as cherry cake!!!

The staff makes you feel like a regular, even your first time in! Which was the case for me. I got a shot of fireball on the house welcoming me to the neighborhood. We ordered food and it was delicious! Awesome atmosphere. It feels like you’re in a bar with all your closest friends. If you’re ever in the area, stop in and you won’t be disappointed.
