Damian's Ice House - Newfield Hamlet

Wow. We wandered in off the commons and had one of our best meals in Ithaca. Creative, outstanding cocktails started us off, then small plates, all of which were outstanding. The lotus root fritters were crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside. Lamb and beef kebabs were perfectly spiced, and the beet salad with arugula was also excellent. The crispy duck (large plate) was half a duck, with crispy skin, succulent meat, and delicious chili sauce with pineapple. Service was outstanding even on a busy night. Oh, and dessert is not to be missed Mango cheesecake and Vietnamese coffee creme Brule ended the meal perfectly!

Consistently good food and a welcoming experience. We started with the lotus root fritters and the warm soba, both were excellent. We came back to have the dahl since it was soo good in our previous visit. I had the Kerala curry which was vegan and delicious. This will be our regular date night place.

Absolutely delicious small plates. We had the Tamarind Wings and the Pork Shank. Both delightful.

I’ve been a server on and off for 15 years. Always loved Mia’s menu and delicious food, but I think there’s 2 issues: 1) the cheap paper napkins are kinda silly for this type of restaurant and makes it feel cheap, please give us cloth napkins. 2) Dinner rush came and we realized there were plenty of ppl for table service/water, but not enough servers. Our server didn’t have time to come back and check in, and it took 30 min longer for our check.
