South Beach Seafood Market - Newport

I understand that this restaurant specializes in fresh seafood, but I have to say, their French fries are absolutely outstanding! They were really delicious. I also tried the crab salad, which was amazing. It was a large salad with plenty of crab meat on a bed of greens and chopped tomatoes. Just a heads up, you might have to wait in line because this place is very popular.

We tried clam chowder at three locations in Newport. Mo's was decent, but it was too thick and had a floury taste. There weren't enough shells and it lacked seasoning. Chowder Bowl was better than Mo's, with a richer taste and more shells. However, our favorite was South Beach Fish Market. It had a rich taste, wasn't too thick, had plenty of potatoes, and lots of shells. We are planning to make a trip from McMinnville to get crabs and chowder from there.

I had a fantastic experience at The Captain's Top and Fish & Chips Cellar. The oysters were delicious and the fish and chips were amazing. However, the Clam Chowder did not meet my expectations as it had too many potatoes, but it still tasted good.

Wonderful, friendly service. Great seafood options at a great price! The whole crab and butter is delicious... even if the only option is frozen crab, don't pass on it. I've had both and still absolutely delicious!!!
