My wife and I lived a few nights in nideggen and we went on a nice walk in the eiffel hills when we met a sign on the way to advise us that the good crook was gone. it was about lunch. time and we felt a little hungry so we decided to go on this wise. we were not disappointed. it seems to be a rather popular place to eat as there are some cars parked outside. the restaurant/hotel is surrounded by paddocks and hills. we sat outside, even though it was oktober. we were greeted by the friendly waitress and were asked what drinks we wanted while we chose our food. the menu was correct, not too big or small. I chose the kassler (drug black liquor) with thick beans and speck (bread beans and bacon bits in cream sauce) and sweet boiled kartoffels. my wife chose the very big chicken breast salad. both meals were nice and the service was great. what we did not notice, however, that if they order a main dish, they also get a supper to start and get a whisper (I thought I had something about this deal on the menu in German, but not really taken a note. so al-in-all, great worth and eat in a beautiful location recommended.

My wife and I were staying a few nights in Nideggen and we went on a lovely 12km walk in the Eiffel Hills when we came across a sign on the path advising us that the Gut Kallerband was 900metres away. It was about lunch time and we were feeling a bit hungry so we decided to head that way. We were not disappointed. It appears to be quite a popular place to eat as there were quite a few cars parked outside. The restaurant/hotel is surrounded by paddocks and hills. We sat outside even though it was mid October. We were greeted by the friendly waitress and were asked what drinks we wanted while choosing our food. The menu was just right, not too big or small. I chose the kassler (smoked pork loin) with Dicke Bohnen and speck (broad beans and bacon bits in cream sauce) and lovely boiled potatoes. My wife chose the very large chicken breast salad. Both meals were lovely and the service was great. However, what we didn't realise that when you order a main dish, you also get a small soup to start and a desert as well (I thought I did see something about this deal on the menu in German, but didn't really take any notice. So al-in-all, great value and food in a lovely location. Recommended.
