It 's a huge serving of rice noodles, chicken strips, and herbs in delicious broth that I consider as the best part of this dish! For toppings. there are bean sprouts and mint leaves. I always put them ALL! This soup is very healthy and filling at the same time. You may put chili sauce and other condiments for more flavor. Just watch out because Vietnamese spices are somehow similar to Thai spices. 2. Goi Cuon (Fresh Spring Rolls) Three rolls of pork, shrimp, and vermicelli wrapped in rice paper. I 'm not a huge fan of this dish. The peanut sauce was overpowering. I 've tasted other spring rolls better than this. 3. Bun Ga Nuong Xa Dry rice noodles with grilled lemongrass chicken. It also has lettuce and other veggies. I liked it. There 's choice to put spicy soy sauce but I only placed a little because it tasted salty. 4. Hot Drip Coffee Nothing beats Vietnamese drip coffee! If you 're a first timer, basically you just wait for the coffee extract to drip into the cup (they call it sweating the cup). Once nothing drips anymore, you may put condensed milk already. For cold coffee, first you let the hot coffee drip, pour it into the glass with ice, then put condensed milk. Mix it a little for a superb taste. Ba Noi 's coffee tasted strong and flavorful. It was only a small serving and how I wish I had more! The restaurant 's interior doesn 't look Vietnamese to me though. It looks a bit dull. The chairs are made up of wood and my butt aches after long sitting.
The food is excellent, authentic vietnamese flavors. The service was slow and lazy. The waitress was bored and wasn't interested in providing good service. We waited 40 mins for dessert, and finally had to ask for it. Instead of two desserts ordered, only one came out. So great food, but the service and attitude lets it down.
If you're missing Vietnam you can come here. I came here with my closest friends and we enjoyed our time. They serve good Pho and the best Vietnamese coffee. Definitely a must try!
One place I go to on a regular basis is the Vietnamese restaurant called Ba Noi 's. One reason is that it 's location is in close proximity to my office. Another reason is the excellent food which has been consistent over the long period of time that I 've been visiting there. For me Ba Noi 's has set the standard locally for what great Vietnamese cuisine is about. Oftentimes I 'd be with work mates when I eat there and we would have our staple orders. We 'd always start with a traditional Baguette. This is served hot from the oven. Bread that 's crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Spread some butter over it which melts upon contact with the hot bread just simply gets your appetite on a good start. Appetizers would be a choice between fried or fresh spring rolls. Any which way is good. This time around we got the Cha Gio (pork shrimp spring roll). Fried spring rolls which you wrap in fresh greens and dip in traditional Nuoc Nam sauce before you take a hearty bite. For my main entree I got the Pho Bo Kho which is beef stew noodle soup. I like this for being really tasty and filling compared to just plain beef or chicken noodles. My work mate got Bun Ca Ri Ga which is chicken curry over dry rice noodles. Both items we highly recommend. For dessert, I always look forward to ordering Banh Da Lon which I only find at Ba Noi 's. It is hot pandan cake filled with mung bean and topped with coconut custard-like sauce. It 's sticky and chewy much like our local 'Kakanin ' but the pandan gives it its distinct taste. Capping off every visit to Ba Noi 's is an order of the traditional Vietnamese Coffee which you can choose to be served hot or over ice. Really strong coffee which you sweeten with condensed milk . They also have coffee dessert concoctions like the Iced Vietnamese Blended Mocha which is quite a good alternative as it can be both drink dessert.
Their fresh spring rolls are very very good i think its named gui cuon in the menu). For me, their pho is slightly tastier than pho hoa's but not by much. Its their caramelized catfish menu that really surprised me. So yummy! The branch in legaspi village, makati is a bit small and can only accomodate so much. Price is affordable but the menu is quite limited.
