Polar Cafe - Nome

When we entered the restaurant, several locals at the bar turned to look at us, which was quite unsettling. The booths and tables were empty, the atmosphere was dark and somber, and no one welcomed us. Feeling uncomfortable, we decided to leave.

I had breakfast here twice and enjoyed large portions of delicious omelettes and side dishes. The coffee was plentiful, and the staff was attentive. The only downside is that they have a fantastic dinner menu, but they close at 3 PM. Unfortunately, we only looked at the menu instead of the hours, so we arrived hungry.

Great food !! Serving breakfast whole day. I love two eggs with hashbrowns and potato fries. The hashbrowns and potato fries are crisp and crunchy. A lot of selections on their menu. Friendly atmosphere!! Good service !!! Highly recommended !!!

Came in for brunch and wasn’t disappointed. Fantastic service, plentiful hot coffee and friendly staff and locals. Oh, and our food was excellent. Biscuits and gravy taste just like I expected and wife had the polar hungry man meal with toasted corned beef hash and eggs and a stack of cakes.

Good place to get breakfast in Nome during winter and get a pint in the afternoon and early evening.
