The complimentary pappadums were a nice touch as we perused the menu and the waitress was very helpful in helping us with our order. Nothing was too much trouble and even a request for special items on a shared platter was greeted favourably. The menu was extensive with a good mix of meat, fish and vegetarian items and all food ordered was flavoursome and in good quantity (highly recommend the prawn and basil curry) A good wine list complimented the food, & all at reasonable prices. A truly enjoyable dining experience.
Had 3 meals here now both as a couple and in a group. The food on all occasions was good. service was attentive. we ate early and needed to keep our jackets on but plates were pre heated a nice touch.
Recently, I went to this restaurant with my family and friends. The ambiance was nice; service was great and food was really good. The first taste of food and I knew this was going to be a good experience. It indeed was. We had to order more and finished everything on the plate. Another good thing, they have put crayons on the tables (there's a white paper on top of the table) and that really keeps the kids occupied. Good price and good food, what more can you ask for.
My daughter and I enjoyed a great meal at this restaurant notwithstanding that we were using a Cudos voucher. From previous experience using vouchers I have sometimes been treated as a second class client but not here-- using a voucher purchased for $29 we were supplied with food from the menu with no restrictions up to a value of $70-- anything on the menu was available. The food was great and serves large--- the waitress and owner were extremely pleasant and overall the experience was worthwhile.I will definitely be returning and will be more than happy to pay full menu prices as this was one of the better Indian meals that I have experienced
My wife and I recently enjoyed a great meal at Taj Mahal on O'Connell street. We ended up here after purchasing an online Cudo voucher which entitled us to an entree tandoori platter to share, followed by the mains which included rice and naan for two, and a choice of two mains. The food was extremely tasty and the serving sizes generous. Another group there that night were celebrating a birthday and the atmosphere (including the music) was distinctly and authentically Indian. We had an enjoyable evening and would return again without voucher for another meal.
