Went here a few months ago and realised I hadn’t done the review yet! So, here goes!<br/ <br/ We arrived exactly on 6pm as I was pretty excited to try this place! We were seated at the bar in true Japanese style, I love that! It’s a pretty nice place. <br/ <br/ I was totes looking forward to the Tonkotsu soup only to be told they had none! Sad face… Well, I had come here specially to try that particular Ramen, as this dish had been raved about by others.<br/ <br/ Chose another soup, which was very average and missing the depth I was looking for on my buds! <br/ <br/ We also asked for the Tako Age as my foodie mate loves octopus and yes, only to be told, they were out of that as well. As I listened stealthily to other guests ordering, there were many items missing off the menu, so quite a few gasps around the room! I hope this has now been rectified!<br/ <br/ Had some skewers, which were nice, but I am still looking to find the perfect chicken skin skewer in Adelaide, no one has come close to the one I had in Tokyo! So my skin search continues! <br/ <br/ Would probably return to try again and hopefully the Tonkotsu soup is waiting for me!
Alerting all Japanese food lovers: handmade ramen noodles! <br/ <br/ Came here for a quiet lunch and was pleasantly surprised at how damn good the food was. The handmade noodles were cooked perfectly. The broth was delicate with a great flavour. Definitely worlds apart from the overly salty broth available at other chains around town. Not to mention the marinated egg. I’m drooling just remembering the flavour of the soft, barely cooked yolk oozing all over my pork tonkatsu ramen. <br/ <br/ Tuno’s ramen tastes like your mum’s food, authentic and delicious.
Yrscore: F4,E4.5,R4<br/ <br/ Recommended by a friend who has been living here for a long time. Tried the soupless ramen which was pretty good. The texture of the ramen al dente and was just right.<br/ <br/ We dined at the bar, where we were facing the grill. Personally, being able to see how my food was prepared elevates the experience. Staffs were friendly too. <br/ <br/ Will return again to try their tonkotsu soon!
I now love Ramen. I didn't even know what ramen was before entering Tuno' s well hung door. My bowl was filled with the perfect amount of chicken broth, slow cooked pork, halved egg, spring onion, a sheet of seaweed, and fresh, soft noodles. There was a glistening shimmer of fat bubbling over the surface that coated your mouth with silk. And the flavors... they were present and balanced. <br/ Get around some warm sake on a cold day. <br/ And be prepared to bow to your sensei as you enter under the Tuno flags (I'm sure they represent Japanese culture somehow.. forgive my ignorance).<br/ I'll be back here in a heart beat. <br/
