Walked past today and saw one of the members of staff stood on a stool cleaning above the window with a hand brush. The dust was falling onto the cakes displayed in the window? No more cakes for me from there!
When I enjoy a nice pasty with my friends, I like to have a side of homemade sauce (also known as mayonnaise to the non-believers). However, I tried the sauce at Stanford's Bakery and found it to be subpar compared to my own homemade version. I would recommend bringing your own sauce if you visit this bakery.
I don't visit Warrens Bakery often because there are many other bakeries in town, but I decided to try it out for a change. I ordered a Cheese Broccoli Pasty for £2.65, but I was very disappointed with it. Instead of finding mostly cheese and broccoli, I found a lot of potato, carrots, onions, and a few small pieces of broccoli. For the price, I expected a proper Cheese Broccoli Pasty. This was my first time at Warrens Bakery in a while, and it will also be my last. There are many other bakeries in town to choose from, including Greggs. Greggs may be budget-friendly, but at least you get what you pay for.
Often they have a choice of three different vegan pasties... green Thai, spicy Mexican, or a winter vegetable one (my favourite).
