The restaurant attempted to justify the prices with an artistic flair in the presentation of ingredients, sometimes just using their French names. While they aimed to set themselves apart from a typical pub, it did not impress us for the price. On a positive note, the staff was friendly and attentive.
We visited this pub for dinner because it was nearby and had good reviews. We were expecting typical pub food, but were pleasantly surprised by a unique and diverse menu. We started with a chicken liver parfait and lavosh, followed by a lamb and mustard cake with sautéed spinach. For dessert, we had a chocolate brown ale cake with butterscotch sauce. Everything was well-prepared and delicious. Our friendly hostess provided great service. The prices were standard for this type and quality of restaurant. The pub had a welcoming atmosphere overall. Don't hesitate to give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
I attended a new music festival at Crescent Hotel in North Hobart. The venue was bustling, but I managed to find a chair at a table towards the back where I could enjoy the music along with an expensive award-winning glass of wine and a packet of snacks. However, I was shocked when an employee asked me to leave the table once I had finished my drink and snacks. It seemed as though they only wanted patrons who were constantly eating and drinking. This attitude left a bad taste in my mouth, especially considering it was a free music festival where they already had a captive audience. I was told that they needed extra staff for the day, but that excuse didn't sit well with me. After being treated with such disrespect, I would not recommend Crescent Hotel.
What a wonderful old hotel Crescent is! We had a function for 26 people on a Saturday night and booked in the upper floor dining room. Tash, Joe and the team were a dream from start to finish. The room was perfect, our 26... guests mingled before dinner (there is a large balcony, with heating right next to the dining room and the room 26 very comfortable. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, service was super friendly and the menu was varied with something for everyone (Have the Lamb and Senf Pie amazing! . The value was unbeatable for what was the complete package. Thank you to the Crescent team that it is so easy and the night is a dream.
The elements from the book of hospitality perfection is done here. A walk down memory lane with Sunday roast to die for and I didn't have to cook. Every Sunday a different roast, simply delicious.
