Ask Italian - North West Leicestershire

I usually enjoy dining at this restaurant, but this time was quite disappointing. We had a large group reservation for a work event, and we had all pre-ordered our meals. However, upon arriving, we had to wait 10 minutes to be seated, even though it was a busy Friday night at 7pm. It seemed like there were only about 3 staff members serving tables. It took another 25 minutes for our drinks to arrive after we had ordered them. My passionfruit martini did not even come with a shot of Prosecco as expected. Our food took an hour to arrive, despite pre-ordering, and other tables who arrived after us were served before us. When my drink arrived, it was spilled on the table and there was no napkin provided. The waitress almost dropped my pizza on my lap when serving it, and it lacked the NO'DUJA sauce that I had ordered. When I asked about it, I was only told that it was a vegan pizza, which I already knew from the sticker on the board. The service was slow and the quality of the food did not meet expectations. Additionally, a £21 tip was added to our bill without our consent, which we had to request to be removed. It was later revealed that we had overpaid, and the manager had to correct the mistake. Overall, while the staff were friendly and the food was tasty, the service and overall experience were disappointing, especially for larger groups. It seems that this is a recurring issue at this branch of Ask Italian.

The restaurant experience was a bit of a mixed bag. We had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated upon arrival, with no bar or waiting area available. Once seated at a window table, we were served quickly by friendly staff. However, our ordered starters arrived promptly but our wine and tap water did not. Despite informing the waiter, the drinks took a while to arrive, leading to our starters being finished by then. The food was tasty, particularly the Puglia Bianco wine and the salted caramel sundae. Unfortunately, the mains were a letdown with overcooked pasta and bland mushroom risotto. Paying with a voucher proved to be a challenge due to issues with the till and payment machine, prolonging the experience. While the atmosphere and service were pleasant, the food quality was lacking, prompting caution in future orders. A safer bet would be to stick with dishes like pizza.

We absolutely love this Italian restaurant! It's a hit with the kids, serving delicious pizzas and pastas. Anything with N’duja is always a winner if you enjoy spicy flavors. The staff is fantastic and we always feel welcomed.

I’ve been to this branch about 7 times in 2023 and every time I’ve been given a glass with lipstick on the rim. Not sure if the dishwasher removes lipstick but surely you would check if the glasses are clean before giving to a customer. Now I go elsewhere as I’m sick and tired of sending the glass es back on every visit. Customers please look at your glass before you drink from it.

Had a lovely meal for a late valentines food was delicious sophia was lovely and super sweet and catered for all our needs thanks x
