The Monkey Walk

The decor at this restaurant is decent and fairly clean, but the staff are very unfriendly and made us feel unwelcome. It is disappointing that they work in a customer service industry if they do not enjoy interacting with the public. I have visited many Wetherspoons pubs where the service was outstanding. The duty manager who brought our food was friendly, but the bar staff need to find a job that brings them enjoyment. I do not plan on returning to this pub.

I ordered a vegan pizza from this restaurant and unfortunately, it was of very poor quality. The base was tough and thin, resembling cardboard, and the overall appearance of the pizza was substandard. The atmosphere inside the establishment was dark and oppressive, creating a tense feeling. The management also displayed unprofessional behavior by siding with unfounded allegations made by certain individuals, resulting in unjust treatment. Overall, this restaurant seems to have serious issues and I would not recommend it. I felt compelled to share my experience, as it was troubling to me. It is sometimes worth paying more to eat, drink, and socialize elsewhere. If you are fortunate enough to be banned from this establishment, it may actually be a blessing in disguise.

My partner, his daughter, and I went out for a family dinner at the pub tonight around 7:30 as I had worked until late. We had ordered our food and had not finished when a bouncer/security guard came over and was incredibly rude to us, insisting that we leave immediately because my partner's daughter is only 10 years old. We were unaware of a rule stating that under 16s are not allowed in after 8 o'clock. Despite this, we tried to finish our meals and drinks. Another bouncer/security guard then came over and gestured for us to leave by tapping his watch. We typically enjoy going to Wetherspoons because it is usually a nice and family-friendly place that my stepdaughter loves, but I was very disappointed in their actions tonight.

Visited this morning for breakfast. Staff was welcoming and friendly but unfortunately the coffee wasn’t very warm and when the breakfast arrived it was cold . The sausage also had a tang to it like it was on the turn. Very disappointed, we both came away feeling sick.

Yesterday bought a large wine and cheesy chips and today I’ve checked my bank to find I was charged £7.45. My wine cost me £3.25 so basically that’s discutting to charge £4.20 for chips with a little cheese. Surely the cost must have been wrong and I was overly priced in error. Not happy at all.
