The kitchen is slow but the omelette and pancakes were delicious and worth the wait. They do have wonderful Mexican dishes as well. The owner is an exceptional artist and sculpturer and his art is nice. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
We had a great brunch at Estudio Café. We visited on a Monday and it was quiet, but the food and mimosas were great. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice waterfront brunch restaurant.
Group of nine friends for dinner. Monday night shrimp night. Choice of two shrimp dishes plus one fish special plus the full menu. Loud saxaphone music when we arrived, maybe with one other instrument. Replaced later in the evening by a great woman on keyboard. Apparently she usually also sings but did not last night. Nice setting overlooking the marina.Wife and I both had the same shrimp dish. Sonorra shrimp I believe it was called. Other shrimp choice was coconut shrimp. Fish was red snapper. Each came with a different set of sides but I believe all three specials included soup which was mushroom and spinach in a broth. Pretty good. Sonorra shrimp was some nice medium shrimp cooked in a tomato broth with chunks of tomato and some seasonings. It was not hot enough when served. All who had it said the same thing. Accompanied by rice and salad on the plate. A slice of good bread was served with the soup but none with dinner. No one had dessert. The three specials of the night were 250 pesos each so $13 USD.Best way to sum up the food was that no one raved about their food and no one complained about it other than the tepid temperature of the shrimp we had. In a bay filled with excellent food of all cuisines, I did not think the food merited a return visit. Some value the setting and music but I go to eat.
We eat here on Saturday mornings and Monday nights during our stay in Nuevo. We go with a group of friends so that is partly the reason for us going. I have read some reviews and agree the service can be "iffy" at times. But that is part of the dining experience in Mexico and not unique to this restaurant. Also, we realize most of the restaurants in the Nuevo Marina area have been hurt by a policy adopted by the nearby Vidanta resort that makes it very inconvenient for guests to walk off the property. In fact, this restaurant has reduced the nights they are open. Slow service is not an issue for us since we can spend two hours for our meals if there are no customers waiting for tables. But they are really testing my loyalty by playing such loud music during our meals. Background music is fine, but I don't believe saxophone music 15 feet away qualifies as "ambiance". As much as we enjoy eating here, when our friends left at the end of our sixth week, we didn't go back during our last week.
Visited for breakfast. This restaurant fronts a small Marina so views are good. It is beside the dolphin shows . Lots of staff so service is good. The breakfast was just okay. The spinach omelette was full of onions and quite thin. My wife's ham and eggs was fair. We also ordered a waffle and the surprise is that it came with a side of caramel sauce. Coffee was good.Overall disappointed but coffee was a hit as was the waffle. Side note , they have a cat that wonders around. Don't feed it as it will not leave you alone!! My bad.
