We arrived late after neuvo on a Friday night. at 10:30 a.m. we have on the look for the cervecaria and when we are out, we have chosen our two teenage boys to go toca medera instead, out there burst and the music. was not so loud. santiago has excellent service and we spent the next 90 minutes from the turbulent 5hr flight. margaritas, cervecas, water, roast calamari (almost a meal on itself, hot wings (be careful here, my 17 years old has never commented that hot was almost too hot! , tuna tacos (wife wouldn't even share, pig bell tacos (delicious! and a pepperoni/ligganero? flat neopolitan pizza (such as wood-fired quality and quiet left us satisfied. a bit more on pricy side still atmosphere, service, quality of food and in the location, in everyone's famous holiday mood outweigh it! the whole family would go back!
We stopped in here the other night after attending the Dia de los muertos celebration at the local college. They had been handing out fliers at the event... All right, parking is a bit awkward and sparse, so we actually drove right by the place...trying to find it. Thankfully it's just u-turn away, and may I say that it's well worth a second time around... We were greeted enthusiastically and warmly at the door, chose a table towards the back, ordered a couple of different Agua del dia (water of the day) and a few different Mexican specialty beers that were delicious and not the normal corona and pacifico variety. Then we proceeded to order a bunch of different stuff to sample and taste... pork belly tacos, empanadas, papas bravas, pepito arrachera, and even some grilled vegetables to make ourselves feel better about everything else we were eating! And yes, even those were delicious! Our waiter Gamaliel took great care of us and made some great recommendations. Finished it all off with a brownie and ice cream, and of course we had to try the flan... Why, because every restaurant serves their own slightly different, special version of this national treasure. Naturally it was delicious. Four people well fed for 687 pesos, great experience, highly recommended and definitely worth another fly-by next time we're out that way. Provecho! Enjoy.
We met with friends that live in the area and told us this has become one of their favorites. It is a small place a little out of the way. Being new it still is quiet. The menu is limited primarily meat. They offer soups...and salad as an alternative we had the soup excellent the ladies went for the salads. They said they were great. They were good sized portions. Our friend had a steak sandwich and I went for the pork belly sandwich they came with a small side salad. Everything was excellent. They had a great Belgium beer that was new to me (forgot the name). The owner and one server both were friendly and wanted to be sure they met expectations. It is a little pricey but we had a number of beers and a bottle of wine. Without the imported beer and wine it would have been reasonable. I have no complaints since the food was very good.
Large menu, many options, many different craft beer, atmosphere is pleasant, we where there was live music on a day, totally back!
