I really enjoyed eating here and would return if visiting lake George again. I was worried because of some of the reviews but was not disappointed in our choice to eat here. The views were beautiful and the food was delicious. Staff was friendly and attentive from the moment we parked! There was a cozy area to sit in front of the restaurant with a fire going to keep you warm before or after dinner. We had the garlic bread, shrimp cocktail, steak and stuffed sole. The steak was delicious. The shrimp cocktail was fresh and tasty. I enjoyed the sole, the lobster sauce on top of the sole was exceptional, even though the stuffing was mostly breading, I would still order this dish again. The only thing I didn’t love was the garlic bread, found it greasy and didn’t taste any garlic but granted this is not an Italian restaurant.
While stays at the Lodges at Cresthaven we enjoy dinner at the Boathouse restaurant. A stroll down the hill from our lodge. Can’t beat sitting over the water with the view of lake George in front of us. It just stopped raining the sun came out and a beautiful double rainbow appeared. Dinner, drinks and service were great as well.
Waited 15 minute’s after being seated for the waiter. Very apologetic. Asked for the fish entrée without lobster sauce or lobster and it still came out with lobster. Owner was sitting at the end of the bar talking to patrons who had children who kept bumping into our table without apology. They were close enough to sit on our laps. Parents or owner did not care. Had to get a waitress to speak with owner. He seemed he didn’t care and kept asking if we wanted him to leave us alone. We finally said we were not paying and for him to take care of waiter. Very unprofessional. Felt sorry for waiter and told owner to take care of the tip. Would not go back or recommend due to owner.
Food was poorly cooked and tried german chocolate cake that was so cold it seemed to be defrosted.....
