Contribuisci feedbackThe cocktails, the food presentation and the drinks pairing were all nice. I enjoyed the love and beer pairing on two of the courses, as well as not so frequent weep to keep the dinge interesting. all pairings were perfectly matched with the delicious curses.
Great place for celebration and special occasions. I enjoyed all the courses. each dish was uniquely prepared with large coating. my favorites were laughs, ducks, chicken broth and huh and tapioca escape. both salmon and so butter. almost melt in the mouth. I like the sun choke and lemon sauce with salmon. it cost $250 per person only for food. highly recommended for anyone who can spend a little extra for a very refined evening meal.
I had the tasting of sweet, prix fixed meal. everything was fresh (so fresh,! complex and thoughtful. some of the dishes were more subtle and earthier, but the stars were excellent. there was a vegetarian caviar court that tasted like I remember caviar. it was just wonderful. my only criticism; the foam on the opening was a teeny bit jarring. it was beautiful and complex, but I think it was a hauch over salted - loved the heat though. the pandan was a little too syrupy and reminded me of the old kokakola. I think something to increase the pandan. maybe a muddled basilikum or a tart berry? however, the honey-terragon wildflower drink was shaken. totally deleted. all in all I understand the 2 michelin star rating. well deserved, unbelievable, and the staff was so sweet.
Loved the Asian and sea forward influences that come across in subtle, non obvious ways. Somehow I ended up comparing the intellect with Birdsong, but found it way more elegant and thoughtful (which is normal given the other restaurant's focus on traditional methods of cooking). The highlights were 1) the cocktail, Ode to Farallon, made with konbu, spirulina, sake, and gin, 2) congee, 3) cured egg yolk, 4) corn and soy custard with caviar, 5) tomatoes with hijiki xo sauce, 6) all desserts... I guess I liked everything so will stop here!
What do I say about this place? it's the most amazing eating experience I've ever had! all at the point that personal amazing, eating. oh, my good, sooo divine! I was so full of the cocktails, delicious mumie, I suggest that the blood orange sidecarriage! they also have a drink pairing if they don't know what they want to do with them.
